Supplemental School Service

To prevent overcrowding of fixed-route buses, supplemental service is provided on days the Madison Metropolitan School District is in session.

Print Ride Information Sheet

Board at all stops along routesbus stop closed sign on a pole

Some stops may have fixed-route "bus stop closed signs" hanging on the pole. Supplemental school riders should still board at these stops. A driver will stop and pick you up.

Be ready for delays - especially during first weeks of school

Due to staffing, budgeting and capacity limit issues related to Covid-19, there may be times where not everyone will be able to board a bus. Please be assured, Metro will make every effort to ensure everyone gets a ride.

Supervisors will be stationed at every school, and buses will be sent back on extra runs if not everyone is not able to board. Adjustments will be made to address issues as resources and staffing allow.

Dispatchers will be in close contact with schools to communicate late buses as they may occur.

Please report all issues and concerns to Metro at (608) 266-4466 or mymetrobus@cityofmadison.com.
