Two Neighborhood Rides Scheduled

Members of the South District Community Police Team (CPT) are hosting two more "Bike with a Cop" events in the next week.

"Bike with a Cop" rides are casual neighborhood gatherings intended to give citizens a chance to interact with officers in a relaxed venue. This is an opportunity for the community to show-off their neighborhood. Citizen riders will give the police a "tour" of the neighborhood with opportunities to highlight neighborhood concerns. CPT Officer David Dexheimer said, "We ride only as fast as the slowest among us. Riders can expect to stop often and chat a lot."

The next ride is Thursday, May 6th, at 5:30 p.m. South CPT members will be visiting the Bridge/Lake Point/Waunona Neighborhood. Riders can gather at Cranberry Creek Café & Grill, 1501 Lake Point Dr.

On Thursday, May 13th, South CPT rides with the Regent Neighborhood. This "Bike with a Cop" event will start at The Froth House, 11 N. Allen St. - just off of Regent St.

All rides begin at 5:30 p.m. and last until about 7:00 p.m. All riders are welcome, but should have a bike helmet. Children should be accompanied by an adult.
