The City of Madison will not have a primary election on February 15, 2022.

No office appearing on the Spring Election ballots in the City of Madison had enough candidates file to require a primary in the City on February 15.

Offices that City of Madison voters will see on their April 5 Spring Election ballots:

  • Court of Appeals Judge, District 4
  • Dane County Circuit Court Judge
    • 5 branch seats
  • Dane County Board Supervisors
    • 37 seats elected based on district
  • School Board Seats: which seats voters will see on their ballot depends on the school district in which they live
    • Madison Metropolitan School District: seats 3, 4, and 5
    • DeForest Area School District: 2 at-large seats for Village of Windsor representation area and 3 at-large seats for Village of DeForest representation area
    • McFarland School District: 3 at-large seats
    • Middleton-Cross Plains Area School District: Area I, Area III, and Area IV seats
    • Sun Prairie Area School District: 3 at-large seats
    • Verona Area School District: Portion 2 seat, 1 at-large seat

City of Madison voters are encouraged to make sure they are ready to vote in the Spring Election on April 5. The MyVote Wisconsin website allows voters to check their voter registration status, request absentee ballots, and find their polling place for the Spring Election. Closer to Election Day, voters will also be able to see what will be on their ballot based on their address, and they will be able to find information on voting absentee in person. The Clerk’s Office has also worked with Madison Public Libraries to do voter outreach at six library branches through Tuesday, March 15. During these outreach sessions, an election official is available to register voters and to answer questions about the voting process, voter ID, becoming a City of Madison election official, and absentee voting. An election official will be at the library branch listed on the days and times below through March 15:

  • Mondays: Goodman South Madison, 12:00 – 4:00 pm
  • Tuesdays: Goodman South Madison, 12:00 – 4:00 pm
    Tuesdays: Hawthorne, 12:00 – 4:00 pm
  • Wednesdays: Lakeview, 12:00 – 4:00 pm
    Wednesdays: Pinney, 12:00 – 4:00 pm
  • Thursdays: Hawthorne, 12:00 – 4:00 pm
  • Fridays: Meadowridge, 11:00 am – 3:00 pm
  • Saturdays: Central, 11:00 am – 3:00 pm
