Reward Fund Specifics

As of 6/16/2009, disbursements were made to individuals that were instrumental in giving critical information in the investigation of Joel Marino's death. The Joel Marino Reward Fund was created shortly after his untimely death in January of 2008, and the purpose was to encourage and assist in the identification, capture and conviction of the person responsible. There were more than 80 individual contributions from members of the public, and with the assistance of the McFarland State Bank setting up the account to manage funds, brought about a safe and secure scenario to easily make disbursements to eligible recipients.

On Wednesday, June 17th, 2009 at 1:00pm, a press conference will be held at 825 Hughes Place (South District of The Madison Police Department). The Media is invited to inquire about the process in which disbursements were made, and how the entire Joel Marino Fund was developed. This press conference has been tentatively planned for some time, as there have been many questions surrounding the fund and potential recipients. This is an opportunity to raise very important questions that many people have had over the duration of this investigation; as it relates to the distribution of reward funds.
