Madisonians cast 161,836 ballots in yesterday’s historic 2020 election, an all-time record which represents 84.7% of registered voters.

With almost all the vote in, statewide the unofficial election results show Joe Biden ahead by 20,000 votes. This is similar to the 22,700-winning margin of victory Donald Trump enjoyed in 2016.

Nationwide, counts continue in numerous states. States appears to have delivered safe, secure elections with little trouble at the polls and no evidence of malicious cybersecurity issues. False assertions of “victory” or “election fraud” must be soundly rejected.

As our election officials have emphasized, we need to wait for all votes to be counted, both the unofficial count and the official canvass.
