Doctor "B" (Doc)

On Tuesday July 21st, 2015, at 11am, the Madison Police Department in conjunction with the ‘Friends of Madison Mounted Horse Patrol’ www.madisonmounted.org will introduce its newest member to the Mounted Patrol Unit.  The press conference will be held at Indigo Trails Farm, which is located at 2782 White Crossing Road, Verona Wisconsin 53593.  ‘Doc’ is a 5 year old Shire that stands 16.3 HH (67 inches at the withers) and weighs 1400 lbs!  Doc will be the 5th horse in the unit and will assist his rider with a variety of police functions such as:  neighborhood patrol, demonstrations, crowd management, and search & rescue.

Doc is the first horse to join the unit through a horse sponsorship program developed by the 501(c)3  ‘Friends of Madison Mounted Horse Patrol’ volunteer non-profit organization.  The purchase price, boarding and veterinary costs associated with Doc will be entirely covered thanks to the generous ongoing donation of Indigo Trails LLC (http://www.indigotrailsllc.com/).  Owner and founder Stacey Bean (Widow of Dr. Darren Bean) will share her touching story on how Doc received his name and why she has chosen to become a Police Horse Sponsor.  It is our hope that you will join us in welcoming our latest addition to the Madison Police Department Mounted Patrol Unit.  The media is invited to attend.
