Keeping responsible agencies within the City Of Madison prepared

On Tuesday June 22nd, 2010, from 8:00 a.m until 4:00 p.m., The Madison Police Department will be conducting a joint tactical exercise at LaFollette High School (700 Block of Pflaum Road). This exercise will be conducted in conjunction with Madison Fire, Dane County Dispatch, and The Madison Metropolitan School District. The focus of this training is to better prepare all involved parties that would potentially respond to a large scale event such as a school or shopping mall shooting.

There may be minor traffic delays/interruptions in the immediate area, but there should not be any significant issues that arise for individuals using the roadways near the training exercise. Dane County Public Safety Communications will be activating Reverse 911 in the area of LaFollette High School during this event, and while this is an exercise, this would normally occur during an actual event. Residents of the area should be prepared for this training scenario, and if there are any question about any portion of this announcement, please feel free to contact Officer In Charge (Madison Police Department) at 608 266-4923.
