Engine Company 9 was called to a home on Hillcrest Drive for improper burning underway.
When firefighters arrived, they located a resident burning a campfire on his property. The crew advised the man that campfires are prohibited in Madison and that if he wished to continue his backyard fires he’d have to acquire a legal fire pit or a grill for cooking purposes. Firefighters informed the resident that if they had to return to the scene the fire would again be extinguished.
