Thousand Oaks Park Master Plan

Madison Parks has completed the master planning process for 1000 Oaks Park in accordance with the City of Madison Master Plan Policy..  Staff held two public input meetings, conducted an online survey, and will take the draft 1000 Oaks Park Master Plan to the Board of Park Commissioners in November.

Thousand Oaks Park is a 15 acre neighborhood park that was dedicated as public parkland as part of the Thousand Oaks First Addition development.


Public Input Meeting #1

  • Staff Presentation: Staff presentation on existing conditions, future development, and influencing factors.
  • Design Thousand Oaks Park Exercise:  Community members worked in groups to develop their own master plan for Thousand Oaks Park.
    • Table One Design: youth soccer field, hiking paths, paved paths, play area, sun shelter, and volleyball court.
    • Table Two Design: youth soccer field, duel pedestrian and bicycle paths, hiking paths, play area, sun shelter, small full court basketball court.
  • Survey:  Community members filled out paper copies of the online survey.

Survey Results

As part of the master plan process, Madison Parks mailed out and issued an online survey to gather additional neighborhood input on the project.  A total of 22 paper and online survey responses were submitted.  The survey results are available below:
