Snow Emergency for Tonight!

Good morning, everyone

A snow emergency will be in effect tonight to assist with the ongoing clean-up operations from yesterday’s snowstorm.  The press release, snow emergency email alerts, and text messages have all been sent to those who have signed up for them at www.cityofmadison.com/Winter.

Tonight, vehicles parked on the street must be on the even side of the road between the hours of 1:00am and 7:00am.

As I write this email, crews are wrapping up the initial plowing that began at midnight.  Throughout the day on Sunday we will have people continuing the touch-up work by plowing back areas that were blocked during the evening’s initial plow and spreading sand where needed to help with traction.  And tonight crews will be on during the alternate side parking time to push snow back to the curb where we can.  Folks who choose not to follow alternate side parking rules can be ticketed at towed tonight.

Equally important to all this is that we will be using the posted Clean Streets/Clean Lakes times to push snow from these roads during the work week.  Folks who don’t abide by those posted signs may also be ticketed at towed.
