Bird & Nature Adventures | Starkweather Creek Area | October 16
Native Plant Workshop with Jeff Steele ~ Join Naturalist Jeff Steele for a hands-on Native Plant Workshop - grow your own native plants! Learn about identifying native plants, collecting seed, and seed germination over winter. Make your very own “mini-greenhouse” using a milk jug, a bit of soil, and some collected native wildflower seeds. Be ready to get your hands dirty! Then set the jugs outside over winter to freeze and sprout naturally. Next summer you can plant what you grow and you can donate any extra plants to Plant Dane to give to schools and community centers! Make a Rain Garden in your own yard! Take a walk to see the beautiful results of prior native wildflower plantings in rain gardens and natural areas along Starkweather Creek!
Meeting Location: across the street from McCormick Dog Park, 538 McCormick Ave.
