Cherokee Park is a beautiful northside park located on the shores of the Yahara River.  This park boasts a beautiful vista, large open space, canoe launch and ample place for your family to play.

PARK IMPROVEMENTS
The City of Madison is seeking to improve the canoe/kayak launch facilities at Cherokee Park!  The proposed improvements to the canoe/kayak launch area at the park include regarding and new surface material for the canoe/kayak launch, along with possible relocation and stabilization of the existing boat storage racks.  The City of Madison Parks and Engineering Divisions first held a public input meeting on January 21, 2015 to discuss the project in addition to improvements at Cherokee Marsh Conservation Park – North Unit.  Comments received following this meeting, together with the election of Rebecca Kemble as Alder for District 18, suggested that more review by the neighborhood was necessary before moving forward.  The City of Madison Parks and Engineering Divisions held a second public input meeting on January 27, 2016.
