Goodman Waves Swim & Dive Team: Friends
Friends of the Goodman Waves
The Friends of the Goodman Waves is a group of dedicated volunteers committed to growing and supporting the Goodman Waves. The Friends group ensures that home swim & dive meets are well organized and safely run all while ensuring the participants have fun. We want everyone to have a great experience. The Friends are also dedicated to community building and plan team socials for swimmers, divers and their families. These activities include potlucks, tie-dying team t-shirts, a trip to Bernie's beach trip and more!
The Friends of the Goodman Waves support the Goodman Waves Swim and Dive Team. We are committed to fostering opportunities and enabling access to recreational and competitive swimming and diving for children of all ages and abilities. We are committed to developing a team that is inclusive and reflects a true representation of the City of Madison. We are dedicated to fostering a fun and positive environment that helps children grow as individuals by stressing the values of good sportsmanship, team and community building and a love of aquatics.
The Goodman Waves pride themselves on hosting fun, smooth, and efficient home meets. This requires that families and friends volunteer. About 40 volunteers are needed to run a home swim meet. Parents or family members are expected to volunteer at home meets in which they have a swimmer participating. The Waves are obligated to provide about 12 - 18 for the All-City Swim Meet. We welcome friends, family and neighbors to help us out! Volunteering is a fun and rewarding way to make the Goodman Waves successful.
Thanks for all your help and support - we couldn't do it without you!
The Friends of the Goodman Waves is proud to partner with the City of Madison Parks, the Shelley Glover Foundation, The Irwin A. and Robert D. Goodman Foundation and the Madison Parks Foundation.
