Nautilus Point Park

Last Updated: 03/13/2019

The City of Madison Engineering Division will soon proceed with the long-planned reconstruction project for the greenway that lies north of Mineral Point Road, between Nautilus and Island Drive within Nautilus Point Park.  The Engineering Division held two public meetings regarding this project.

The project will consist of converting existing dry detention basins to a wet detention pond and a sand filter. The project will also stabilize the channel and remove a significant number of trees. Tree removal will be completed in early spring, and the earthwork portion of the project will be completed during the late summer or early fall.

The City will be completing a revegetation project following construction. This will consist of seeding the site with native species, as well as planting replacement trees and shrubs that are better suited to the area and provide beneficial habitat.

Please contact Sally Swenson, the Project Engineer, at (608) 266‑4862 or sswenson@cityofmadison.com, with any other questions regarding the project.

This project will be completed in the spring and summer of 2019.
