Penn Park Playground Replacement - Contact: 2019 Playgrounds - Group 2

Replacement of the playground at Penn Park is included in the Parks capital budget for 2019!

The City of Madison Parks Division held an initial neighborhood meeting to discuss playground improvements at Penn Park on November, 29th, 2018. At this meeting, City staff presented the playground design process and gathered input on new playground equipment preferences and surfacing options.

The below materials were presented at the meeting:

On January 15, 2019, Parks staff met with representatives of the Boys and Girls Club of Dane County, located at 2001 Taft St. Madison. Playground equipment options were presented to children attending the organization's afterschool program. Kids ages 5 to 12 reviewed the equipment options and placed dots on their preferred features. The results are below:

Parks staff will meet with representatives of One City Learning on January 17th and review potential playground equipment options with their students.

A second neighborhood meeting will be held in late February to discuss the results of staff outreach efforts and review specific equipment proposals for Penn Park. Notices for the meeting will be sent via postcards, social media and signs in the park.
