The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to from Friday morning to Monday morning. Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.

From 6:00 a.m. on 02/24/2023 through 6:00 a.m. on 02/27/2023, MPD received 1,008 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials. A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows: Central (214), East (205), Midtown (163), North (169), South (92), West (108), and Other (57). "Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.

Priority calls only from 4:30 p.m. to 8:42 p.m. due to calls for service.

Priority calls only from 11:43 p.m. to 2:58 a.m. due to calls for service.

EAST: Domestic Disturbance – 2:14 a.m.  Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 34-year-old female subject.  The subject was arrested for domestic battery and disorderly conduct.

NORTH: Sexual Assault – 4:51 a.m.  The victim reported that the 32-year-old male subject, her ex-boyfriend, sexually assaulted her.  The subject was arrested for 3rd degree sexual assault and domestic disorderly conduct.

MIDTOWN: Threats Complaint – 8:00 a.m.  Officers made contact with a 26-year-old male subject who made threats of using a gun.  The subject was arrested for making terroristic threats.

NORTH: Check Person – 10:10 a.m.  Officers responded to a residence where a subject requested police assistance in removing several people staying with him.  Two subjects (60-year-old male and 28-year-old female) were arrested on outstanding warrants.

??WEST: Drug Overdose – 12:40 p.m.  Loss prevention staff at Woodman's located the 23-year-old male subject down in the bathroom.  MFD paramedics revived the subject with naloxone and transported him to the hospital.  The subject was arrested for possession of schedule II narcotics.

NORTH: Death Investigation – 3:08 p.m.  Officers responded to a residence where a neighbor discovered the 61-year-old male subject deceased.  MFD paramedics attempted life-saving measures but were unsuccessful.  Nothing suspicious on scene.

NORTH: Attempt to locate – 4:10 p.m.  Officers responded to a convenience store in the 3500 block of E Washington Ave in an attempt to apprehend a wanted suspect (39-year-old male) in a homicide case. Subject located and a confrontation took place between the subject and officers. Shots were fired by the subject and an MPD officer. The subject was later located inside a bathroom deceased. Press conference held and press release completed.

EAST: Death Investigation – 5:09 p.m.  Officers responded to a residence where the 39-year-old female subject was discovered deceased.  Nothing suspicious on scene.

SOUTH: Check Person Weapon – 7:22 p.m.  Officers responded to S Park St at Beld St and contacted a subject in a vehicle who was armed and suicidal.  The subject was transported to a hospital.  Officers consulted with Journey Mental Health.  The subject was left in the care of hospital staff.

CENTRAL: Domestic Disturbance – 5:40 a.m.  Officers responded to a report of a disturbance involving a 40-year-old male subject (not on scene when officers arrived). Officers developed probable cause to arrest the subject for domestic disorderly conduct and criminal damage to property.

NORTH: Adult Arrested Person – 5:42 a.m.  The Department of Corrections requested that officers arrest a 42-year-old male subject who had violated the conditions of his bail.  Officers took the subject into custody without incident.

MIDTOWN: Sexual Assault – 9:48 a.m.  Officers investigated a report of an alleged sexual assault.  Investigation continuing.

EAST: Domestic Disturbance – 12:17 p.m. Officers responded to a report of a 27-year-old male subject who sent threatening text messages. Subject remains at-large. Probable cause developed to arrest the subject once he is located.

SOUTH: Adult Arrested Person – 12:44 p.m. Officers responded to a report of a disturbance. A 31-year-old male subject was arrested for an outstanding warrant. No charges substantiated from today's incident.

EAST: Substantial/Aggravated Battery – 2:46 p.m. Officers responded to a report of a battery. The victim was conveyed to a local hospital with injuries. The suspect remains at-large. Investigation continuing.

NORTH: Adult Arrested Person – 4:13 p.m. A stolen vehicle was located/recovered. The driver/subject (31-year-old male) was arrested for operating a motor vehicle without consent, felon in possession of a firearm, possession with intent to deliver meth, possession with intent to deliver cocaine, possession of schedule IV narcotics, possession of drug paraphernalia, carrying a concealed weapon, felony bail jumping and a probation hold.

EAST: Adult Arrested Person – 4:33 p.m. A 48-year-old male subject was arrested on outstanding warrants.

CENTRAL: Trespass – 4:51 p.m. Officers received a request to check the welfare of a subject (50-year-old female). The subject was arrested for trespassing, obstructing and felony bail jumping.

NORTH: Recovered/Stolen Auto – 10:55 p.m. A stolen vehicle was located unoccupied. Vehicle recovered/towed.

Priority calls only from 1:45 a.m. to 6:06 a.m. due to calls for service.

Priority calls only from 10:34 p.m. to 11:41 p.m. due to calls for service.

EAST: Stolen Auto – 1:29 a.m. A driver/vehicle was reported as driving erratically with occupants pointing guns out of the it. Vehicle crashed and the occupants fled on foot. The 3 occupants (16-year-old male, 26-year-old male and 15-year-old male) were arrested for operating a motor vehicle without consent (party to a crime). *Later in the morning additional information was gathered on this incident regarding a disturbance with guns. Investigation continuing.

WEST: Crash – 3:03 a.m. Officers responded to a single-vehicle crash with a report of the driver/subject (18-year-old male) walking away from the scene. The subject attempted to run from officers but was apprehended. The subject was arrested for resisting.

EAST: Disturbance – 3:53 a.m. Officers responded to a report of a disturbance with a gun involved. Primary aggressor/subject not on scene when officers arrived.  Traffic stop attempted on the subject but he fled. The vehicle is located crashed unoccupied. Subject remains at-large.

CENTRAL: Domestic Disturbance – 2:14 p.m. Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 30-year-old female subject (not on scene). Probable cause developed to arrest the subject once she is located.  

EAST: Adult Arrested Person – 5:24 p.m. Officers responded to a report of two subjects unconscious in a vehicle. Evidence of drug use observed. A 46-year-old male subject was arrested for an outstanding warrant. The other subject was conveyed to a local hospital. Charges forthcoming.

WEST: Check Person – 5:31 p.m. Officers responded to a report of an unconscious subject. MFD administered naloxone and the subject was conveyed to a local hospital. No charges substantiated at this time.

SOUTH: Adult Arrested Person – 6:35 p.m. A 41-year-old male subject was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia and trespassing.

SOUTH: Missing/Runaway Juvenile – 6:45 p.m. A 15-year-old male was reported as missing/runaway. Attempt to locate aired. The juvenile was listed as missing/runaway in the appropriate databases.

EAST: Adult Arrested Person – 8:04 p.m. Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 51-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for disorderly conduct and a probation hold.

NORTH: Disturbance – 9:34 p.m. Officers responded to a report of a disturbance between two subjects. It was reported that both subjects armed themselves with items that could be considered a weapon. Subjects not on scene when officers arrived.

MIDTOWN: Disturbance – 10:11 p.m. Officers responded to a report of a 28-year-old male subject who broke into a home armed with a gun. The subject left the home and fled in a vehicle. A traffic stop was conducted. The subject was arrested for burglary, disorderly conduct while armed, carrying a concealed weapon, criminal damage to property, second degree recklessly endangering safety, being armed while intoxicated and endangering safety by use of a dangerous weapon.

WEST: Disturbance – 11:29 p.m. Officers responded to a report of a subject displaying a firearm at the caller. Subjects arrive on scene and three subjects attempted to walk away. A 29-year-old male subject was cited for resisting.

CENTRAL: Adult Arrested Person – 1:27 a.m. Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 23-year-old female subject. The subject was arrested for disorderly conduct, obstructing and trespassing.
