Badges for Baseball

August 13, 2013 3:44 PM

This summer, West District officers have been participating in the "Badges for Baseball" program taking place at the Allied Drive Boys & Girls Club and at Falk School.  "Badges for Baseball" is a juvenile crime prevention initiative that pairs police and kids together to plan and learn.  The goal of this initiative is to enhance the relationship between law enforcement and kids, using baseball.  Kids learn important lessons about teamwork, communication, respect and leadership that can be used both on and off the field.

Our staff recently warmed up with two teams before they had the chance to play at Warner Park with some Madison Mallards players.   Kids participating received a baseball with the MPD logo.
