The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to over the last 24 hours.

Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.

Number of calls

From 6:00am on October 30 to 6:00am on October 31, we received 464 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials.

A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows:

  • Central: 86
  • East: 105
  • Midtown: 64
  • North: 91
  • South: 46
  • West: 57
  • Other: 15

"Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the city. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.

Notable calls

Thursday, October 30:

Priority calls only from 11:20am to 12:10pm and from 1:30pm to 3:38pm due to calls for service.

  • 05:53am - North – Domestic Disturbance: Officers responded to a residence where the victim reported that the 26-year-old male suspect threw her to the floor, held his hand over her mouth and closed her in the bathroom. The suspect was arrested and charged with domestic suffocation, false imprisonment, battery and disorderly conduct.
  • 7:04am - East – Runaway Juvenile: A mother reported her 12-year-old son had run away. Officers listed the juvenile as missing and aired an ATL.
  • 10:05am - East – Domestic Disturbance: Officers responded to the 4500 block of E Washington Ave where a man and woman were engaged in an altercation. The 52-year-old female suspect was arrested and charged with domestic disorderly conduct.
  • 11:57am - South – Missing Adult: A case manager reported a 27-year-old man missing. Officers checked the area but did not locate him. The man was listed as missing and an ATL was aired.
  • 12:20pm - West – Animal Complaint/Disturbance: Officers responded to a residence where two dogs were fighting. The dogs were transported to an emergency vet clinic. Investigation continuing.
  • 12:59pm - East – Domestic Disturbance: Officers responded to an intersection where the victim had exited a vehicle after the 18-year-old male suspect struck her multiple times. Officers developed probable cause to arrest the suspect for domestic battery, disorderly conduct, theft and bail jumping. Suspect is at large.
  • 1:14pm - Midtown – Domestic Disturbance: Dispatch received a report of a man and woman involved in a disturbance in a vehicle. Officers located the 20-year-old male suspect who was arrested and charged with domestic disorderly conduct and false imprisonment.
  • 4:13pm - East – Traffic Complaint: Dispatch received a report of a traffic incident in the area of Lien Rd and Felland Rd. Officers determined the suspect vehicle was stolen out of a different jurisdiction. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate the vehicle.
  • 5:41pm - North – Stolen Auto: A victim reported his vehicle was stolen from the 700 block of Ruskin St. An officer listed the vehicle as stolen and an ATL was aired.
  • 6:45pm - Central – Adult Arrested Person: A park ranger notified dispatch that a 44-year-old male suspect wanted for retail theft was in the area of Festival Foods. Officers apprehended the suspect who was booked into jail on outstanding probable cause for retail theft and bail jumping.
  • 7:04pm - South – Traffic Crash: Officers responded to the intersection of John Nolen Dr and Olin Ave for a two-vehicle crash from which the suspect vehicle had fled. The suspect vehicle was located abandoned. Officers issued the registered owner, a 23-year-old male, a citation for hit and run owner's liability.
  • 7:54pm - Central – Suspicious Person: Officers responded to the area of N Baldwin St and Sherman Ave where the 22-year-old male suspect was attempting to open car doors. The suspect was arrested and charged with damage to property, disorderly conduct, and OMVWOC.
  • 8:29pm - North – Domestic Disturbance: Officers responded to a residence where the 35-year-old male suspect pushed the victim into a door during an argument. The suspect was arrested and charged with domestic disorderly conduct.
  • 9:51pm - East – Death Investigation: Officers responded to the parking lot of Walmart where a 65-year-old man was found deceased in a vehicle as a result of an apparent drug overdose. Medical examiner on scene.
  • 10:31pm - South – Domestic Disturbance: Officers responded to a residence where the 30-year-old female suspect attempted to take a phone away from the victim. The suspect was arrested and charged with domestic disorderly conduct.

Friday, October 31:

  • 12:45am - West – Disturbance: A victim reported that the 17-year-old male suspect put her in a chokehold and punched her in the face. Officers developed probable cause to arrest the suspect for physical abuse to a child and false imprisonment. Suspect is at large.
  • 1:33am - South – Domestic Disturbance: A victim reported that the 31-year-old male suspect kicked her and punched her repeatedly, then dragged her down the street. The suspect was arrested and charged with domestic substantial battery, disorderly conduct, resisting, and bail jumping.
  • 3:14am - Midtown – Domestic Disturbance: Officers responded to a residence where the 40-year-old male suspect repeatedly struck a victim and put his hands around her neck. The suspect struck another victim who attempted to intervene. The suspect was arrested and charged with resisting, possession of methamphetamine, physical abuse of a child, domestic disorderly conduct and domestic battery.
