Incident Type

Traffic Incident

Incident Date

09/22/2013 - 3:27 PM

200 block Swanton Rd.

Karston M. Parduhn, age 22, Madison
Suspect was arrested for 2nd Degree Reckless Endangerment and Operating a Motor Vehicle While Under the Influence.

Female, age 21, Madison

"I'm surprised no one got killed," said one witness after watching a drunken driver operative recklessly along Swanton Dr. Sunday afternoon with a woman on the hood of his car. Other drivers were swerving or braking hard to miss colliding with the suspect's vehicle. The woman on the hood is a friend, and she was attempting to stop the man from driving. A witness was yelling at her: "Jump off! It's not worth your life!" The witness estimated the car reached 40 mph before the woman fell off. The driver then put the car in reverse, and drove - in reverse - several blocks back to the parking lot where the incident began. The driver admitted to police that he had a lot to drink before getting behind the wheel. He was arrested for drunken driving and 2nd degree reckless endangerment.
