04/05/2014 - 2:01 AM

1525 N. Stoughton Rd. (Club LaMark)

Suspect is at large.

Female, age 31, McFarland

A Madison Police sergeant performed chest compressions on a 31-year old woman, helping save her life, after she was knocked unconscious during a fight outside of a N. Stoughton Rd. bar early Saturday morning.

The woman was not breathing, and had no pulse when the MPD arrived. The sergeant continued lifesaving efforts until Madison Fire Department paramedics arrived. The woman regained consciousness and was taken to a hospital where no serious injuries were found.

She said she had been in an argument - with a man she knows - while inside Club LaMark. Bar staff asked she and her boyfriend to leave, and the other man also departed. The dispute, between the three, continued outside. It evolved into a fight, and the woman was punched once in the face.

The suspect is at large.

The MPD sergeant will be nominated for a departmental life saving award.
