Kenyairra I.S. Gadson, age 21, Madison
Suspect was arrested for first degree intentional homicide.

Dane County Medical Examiner says preliminary autopsy results confirm victim died as a result of homicidal firearm related trauma.

VCU detectives have determined there was no dispute at Whiskey Jacks Saloon that led to the shooting.

Early this morning, detectives from the MPD's Violent Crimes Unit arrested Kenyairra I.S. Gadson, age 21, Madison, on a tentative charge of first degree intentional homicide. Surveillance images and information from witnesses assisted detectives in identifying Gadson. She was taken into custody without incident.

This weapons offense took place just before 2:00 am on the Frances Street side of State Street Campus Ramp.  We are seeking the assistance of the public for any information regarding this weapons offense.  We are also investigating a disturbance that occurred prior to the weapons offense, inside of Whiskey Jacks Saloon at 552 State Street.  If you have any information, photos or video related to these incidents, contact MPD at 266-4275, or if you wish to remain anonymous, contact Madison Area Crime Stoppers at 266-6014, or on the web at

Early this morning, a 21-year-old Madison man was shot in the State Street Campus Ramp, 415 N. Lake St.  
The victim was transported to a hospital with a life-threatening gunshot wound to the torso.
The MPD's Violent Crimes Unit is leading the investigation. Detectives do not believe this was a random act of gun violence.
