Incident Report for Case #2019-187113

Incident Type

Residential Burglary

Incident Date

05/18/2019 - 9:13 PM

Golden Maple Rd.

Male, black, teens, 5'8" to 5'10", slender build, short hair, wearing a black hoodie.

The victim told police he was expecting a family member to come over for a visit Saturday night, so he left his garage door open and the door from the garage into his Golden Maple Road home unlocked. When he heard the door open, he called out a welcome. Not hearing a response, he looked to see it was not the guest he had expected, but a stranger standing inside his house. It was a teenager wearing a hoodie and the young man quickly departed. The victim soon realized two sets of keys were gone. They had been hanging on hooks. One set belonged to him; the other to his wife. They contained key fobs to the couple's cars and keys to their home. The victim's wife and baby were upstairs at the time of the burglary. A neighbor has a surveillance video system. It recorded five teens roaming the neighborhood before one went up to the victim's home.
