Incident Report for Case #2019-386229

Incident Type

Residential Burglary

Incident Date

09/18/2019 - 5:30 AM

Settlers Road

GPS tracking technology led the MPD to a stolen 2019 Mercedes-Benz last night. It, and a second stolen Mercedes, were located – both unoccupied - in the parking lot of the Hampton Inn, 4820 Hayes Rd. The Benz the MPD was tracking was reported stolen from a Settlers Rd. home early Wednesday morning. Its owner said a burglar appears to have gotten into the family's second car, which was parked in the driveway. It contained a garage door opener which was the precursor to the criminal gaining access to the home's mudroom. Keys to the stolen car were in the home. The second Mercedes was listed as stolen out of Waukesha County. Officers could see a gun belt and ammunition, in plain view, inside of it.
