After finding the getaway van - which had crashed in the front yard of a home on Todd Dr., very near Post Rd. – detectives and officers continued to search the area. They located and arrested two suspects in an area home. Both are believed to be responsible for the early morning shooting. The MPD has developed probable cause to tentatively charge Jontrae M. Larsen, age 17, Madison, with first degree reckless endangering safety – party to a crime, and eluding.  Octavious J. Krohn, age 18, Madison, will also be tentatively charged with first degree reckless endangering safety.

In reviewing area surveillance cameras, it appears there were several people/motorists in the area at the time of the shooting. Detectives are looking to speak with those who may have information. Please contact Madison Area Crime Stoppers at (608) 266-6014.

The van thought to be involved in the shooting has been found unoccupied in the area of Todd Dr.

Details

Officers are on the scene of a shooting in the 5000 block of Milwaukee St. They were called to an address around 7:00  a.m. after witnesses reported hearing up to 14 gunshots. A home and car were hit by several bullets. Shell casings have been recovered, but there have been no reports of injuries. A dark blue van with tape over a side window was spotted driving away from the scene. Violent Crime Unit detectives believe this was a targeted attack.
