Teen was taken to the Juvenile Reception Center on a tentative charge of operating a vehicle without owner's consent - party to a crime.


A 14-year-old girl refused to identify the driver of a stolen SUV last Friday afternoon after it went off the roadway, colliding with trash cans, signs, and fences along Schroeder Rd. The teen and a girlfriend had been passengers in the now damaged vehicle. They fled on foot with the driver. Witnesses described him as an adult male in his late teens or 20's. Officers went looking for the trio, finding the one passenger. She went to the Juvenile Reception Center claiming she did not know the SUV was stolen. It had been. In Waunakee.
