UpdateThe MPD is seeking to identify suspects in this gun call to a vestibule at West Towne Mall. One man used an innocent civilian as a human shield to keep a gunman from him. It's believed some involved fled in a red SUV, possibly a Mitsubishi Outlander.

One of the attached images is comprised of two surveillance photos, placed side by side. They are of the same scene, and show the citizen being used as a human shield. The other attached image shows a gun being pointed at the unarmed suspect's head. The second image also contains a photo of the SUV.

DetailsOn 10/22/2019 at approximately 3:44 PM Madison Police Department officers were dispatched to a fight, and a person with a gun at the West Towne Mall food court.
All of the reported suspects who were involved in the physical altercation, to include the male who had a handgun, fled the area before officers arrived on scene. The involved suspects fled the area in two separate vehicles. The involved suspects appear to have known one another. The fight in question resulted in one male chasing another male into the food court entrance area of the mall. One of the involved suspects was determined to be armed with a handgun and an innocent bystander ended up in the middle of the physical altercation. No injuries were reported.
The involved suspects appear to be AAM's ranging in ages between their early twenties and early thirties. The involved vehicles appear to be a red mid-sized SUV, and a dark in color sedan.
