Incident Report for Case #2019-467740

Incident Type

Incident Date

11/11/2019 - 11:40 AM

30 Ash Street (West High School)

West High's School Resource Officer pleaded with a 16-year-old girl to make a good decision, and voluntarily leave the school yesterday. The girl is not a student at West, and attends an alternative program. The SRO volunteered to give her a ride to the program. She responded by swearing at the officer. There was information the teen was looking to confront a student at West, and school staff worked to assist the SRO in escorting the girl from the school. She began swinging at the SRO, breaking his glasses, scratching his face, and biting his arm. The bite drew blood and the officer would later go to a hospital to be treated for a significant exposure. The girl also attempted to bite a school staff member. She was taken to the Juvenile Reception Center on tentative charges of battery to a law enforcement officer, causing substantial bodily harm/soft tissue injury, resisting/obstructing, damage to property, disorderly conduct, and trespass.
