DetailsShortly after 6:00 p.m. on Sunday July 15th Madison Police responded to the 5000 block of Camden Road for a report of a man with a gun. After officers arrived shots were fired. The subject of the man with a gun call was shot. He was taken by helicopter to UW Hospital's trauma center where he was pronounced dead. No officers, or other citizens were injured in the incident. The use of deadly force will be reviewed and investigated by the Madison Police Department, the Dane County District Attorney, and the Dane County Coroner John Stanley. Stanley indicated he is still trying to reach family of the deceased and is withholding the man's name. Names of officers involved in the Camden Road call are also being withheld at this time. An autopsy is scheduled for tomorrow (Monday July 16th.)
