A monthly series that gives you the opportunity to have engaging conversations with Black, Indigenous, People of Color who are making a difference in their community. Listen to their stories that speak to cultural differences, learn more about Madison’s history from different perspective, ask questions and have an experience. In June, Carmella Harris joins our host, Melvin Hinton.  

Carmella Harris is the Founder and Executive Director of Community Agency Bridging the Gap (CABG), a non for profit agency that provides free and immediate community-based, culturally-sensitive crisis services. Carmella has a long history of creating programs to help her community such as to “Walk and Talk” for their health, supporting Grandparents raising their grandchildren, organizing Community Health Fairs and Community Dinners and providing individual support for community members suffering from a variety of health issues. Carmella has gained neighborhood credibility in times of crisis and is a community leader who is committed to empowering others to be part of the solution.
