LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) is a national program of the U.S. Green Building Council that sets the benchmark for high performance “green” buildings that are environmentally responsible, profitable and healthy places to live and work.  Recently the Common Council passed a resolution requiring LEED for all new and remodeled building in the City.  The resolution calls for the City to meet LEED – silver rating starting July 1, 2008.
