Public Health announced Dane County announced an updated order effective July 13, 2020. Read the press release and full order. On August 24, Emergency Order #9 took effect. Read the press release and full order for details.

A free community testing site is available at the Alliant Energy Center. No appointments are necessary.

City Service Updates

  • Most public buildings are closed until further notice. Many City services are available online or by mail. View service updates, or contact the agency with any questions.
  • Madison Public Libraries are offering limited service, including curbside pickup and in-person computer use.
  • Metro Transit resumed collecting fares and boarding at the front door on September 1.
  • Refuse and recycling pickup is continuing, but starting 30 minutes earlier at 6:30 a.m. Residents should have their carts out for collection by 6:30 a.m on their normal collection day.
  • City residents seeking help with financial concerns due to the COVID-19 pandemic can contact a new, free Financial Resources Hotline to be connected to financial assistance resources.
