Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get my Double Dollars?
Go to one of the participating markets (list below) with your SNAP benefits card. Find the EBT transaction booth or market manager to withdraw the amount of SNAP you would like to spend at the farmers' market. Then, you will receive a dollar-for-dollar match for each dollar you withdrew from your SNAP account!
What are the other markets participating in the program?
- Northside Farmers' Market (Sunday, 8:30am-12:30pm)
- Eastside Farmers' Market (Tuesday, 4pm-7pm)
- Two locations of the Southside Market:
- Villager Mall (Friday, 2pm-6pm)
- Labor Temple (Sunday, 11am-3pm and Tuesday, 2pm-6pm)
I am not a resident of Madison, can I still participate in the MadMarket Double Dollars program?
Yes! The program is offered to all SNAP participants, regardless of where you live.
I do not use SNAP, but I have WIC benefits. Does that still count for the Double Dollars?
No, unfortunately this is only for SNAP users, not including the WIC program.
I have SNAP benefits, but not on a Wisconsin FoodShare card, am I still eligible?
Yes! This program is open to all SNAP participants from all states.
I only want to spend a few dollars at the farmers' market, is there a minimum I must spend?
No, not at all. If would like to only spend one dollar, you can absolutely.
I did not spend all of my MadMarket Double Dollars today, can I use them next week or at another market?
Yes! You can use them at other participating markets and you can spend leftover dollars until the program ends at the end of October.
How long does this program last?
The program will run through the end of October.
Are there any restrictions on the type of products I can buy?
No. Any product offered at the farmers' market is eligible.
