Reynolds Park - 2016 and 2017 Field Grading & Rehabilitation

Last Updated: 10/09/2017

PLEASE STAY OFF OF THE FIELD AT REYNOLDS PARK!

Reynolds Park field underwent a full re-grading and re-seeding project constructed by Parks Construction in July of 2016. Grass has been establishing at the site since the work completed at the end of July.

Parks asks for all visitors to Reynolds Park to please refrain from walking on the open space area of the park during this critical establishment period, which will continue throughout the fall of 2016 and into 2017. With successful establishment of the turfgrass and an adequate "rest" period, the work should fully rehabilitate the field to elevate it in some sections as well as provide positive drainage across the field in order to minimize ponding and standing water issues.

Full re-vegetation will take many months (weather-depending) especially to get the root establishment required for healthy turfgrass and the fields will be out of commission for the remainder of 2016 and likely 2017 in order to allow for full re-establishment of quality turfgrass following the grading work.

Parks appreciates the consideration & cooperation of all users in respecting the field rest and asks that visitors avoid foot-traffic on the main field area (to be marked by signs following completion of the work).  This is essential in order to ensure that the field can fully return to a quality play surface.
