Ryan began playing golf at the age of 5 with his father at Vitense Golfland, just down the road from Odana Hills. At the age of 14, he started working at Door Creek to pay for a new set of golf clubs and worked in a variety of areas ultimately landing as a pro shop attendant. After college, Ryan entered the PGA Professional Golf Management Program and took a job as the Assistant Golf Professional at Odana Hills Golf Course. After five years, he became the First Assistant Golf Professional at Odana Hills and finished his PGA education in December of 2013. Ryan became a PGA Certified Professional in the field of Golf Operations and started as a Head Golf Professional at the beginning of the 2014 season. Ryan can be reached at rbrinza@cityofmadison.com or (608) 266-4724.

Jake Severson Assistant Golf Professional, Odana Hills Golf Course

Jake Severson

Jake grew up on the Madison's northside. His passion for golf began at an early age and continued throughout his childhood, always seeking ways to become a better player and an ambassador of the game. Jake began working at Odana Hills in the spring of 2015 as a golf shop attendant and advanced the following season to Assistant Golf Pro, learning as much as possible about the business of golf. It is his aspiration to become the Head Professional at his own course in the future. Jake is pursuing a PGA Membership by taking his Playing Ability Test and entering the PGA Professional Golf Management program. Jake is also excited to begin teaching the game of golf through Golf Madison Parks. When Jake is not at the golf course, he is spending his time with friends and family, watching Wisconsin sports, or enjoying the great outdoors.

Dan Spear Assistant Golf Professional, Odana Hills Golf Course

Dan Spear

Dan began playing golf when he was just 3 years old and grew up spending most of his days practicing and playing at a local course in Wausau, WI. He played competitively through his middle and high school years, but decided to focus on a degree in business instead of competing at the collegiate level. After graduating with a degree in Finance from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire in May 2016, Dan decided he wanted to pursue his passion of golf. Dan is entering into the PGA Professional Golf Management Program this summer and with a goal of becoming a PGA Head Golf Professional. In his free time he enjoys traveling with his friends and family, and watching and playing various sports. Dan is based out of Odana Hills and is looking forward to teaching and growing the game of golf in the greater Madison area during the 2016 golf season.
