1.) Two set of plans will be needed to be submitted for review.

Plans should include:

  • Floor Plans

  • Foundation / Basement Plans

  • Elevation Views (Exterior Picture Views)

  • Cross Section View

  • Site Plan For Zoning to sign off on

  • Heat Loss Calculator for any new heated spaces
    (Use the ResCheck to calculate your heat loss.)

  • Erosion control form and plan for new one and two family homes

2.) The Plan review process will typically take 5 working days.

3.) Once the plans have been reviewed and approved, the permit can be issued. If the plans have not been approved, new plans need to be submitted correcting the items listed in the withholding letter.

Items that are typically missed on plans:
  • Header sizes
  • Beam sizes
  • Overhead garage door header sizes
  • Floor joist size direction and spacing

  • Door Sizes

  • Exterior deck framing information

  • Insulation type and R-values

  • Incorrect heat loss calculations

  • Number of studs on either side of windows to resist wind load for two story open rooms.
