MAKING PAYMENTS:

You can pay in any of the following ways:

  • You may pay by cash (do not send cash through the mail), check, credit card or debit card in person at the cashier window at the Municipal Court Office, Room 203, City-County Building; by credit card or debit card by going to www.madisonpay.com and clicking on Municipal Court Payment; or by filling out the Credit Card Form and faxing it to the Municipal Court Office, Fax: (608) 266-5930.

Please be sure to include your citation number or case number with your payment.

If you want to request more time to pay or request a payment plan you must make that request in writing either in person, by mail, by email, or by fax. You will need to fill out the following: Request for Time to Pay (PDF 18KB) (en Español (PDF 10KB)

  • If you pay by mail, do not mail cash.
  • Make checks and money orders payable to the Madison Municipal Court, or
  • Pay by credit card or debit card in person at the cashier window at the Municipal Court Office, Room 203, City-County Building, or
  • Pay by credit card or debit card by going to www.madisonpay.com and clicking on Municipal Court Payment, or
  • Fill out the credit form and fax, [Fax: (608) 266-5930] it to the Municipal Court Office. Go to: Credit Card Form

The Judge will make the determination whether or not to grant your request. If your case has been assigned to a collection agency, you may clear your credit record by paying your forfeiture in full either at the court or at the collection agency. You will get credit for partial payments. However, the alternative sentence, such as a driver’s license suspension or time in jail will remain in effect until your forfeiture is paid in full.
