Policies & Guidelines
Madison City Channel's Community Bulletin Board is a videotext bulletin board which runs at various times throughout the day on Madison City Channel (Charter cable channel 98, 994, U-verse 99). The CBB features information and events in Madison to inform the community of things to do or see. We normally try to put information up about a month before the event, with a minimum of 2 weeks.

What Madison City Channel can include on the CBB:
  • City, County and State job openings
  • Press releases and other information from City of Madison agencies
  • Notices on Government/Community meetings
  • Events taking place at the Overture Center and at other cultural/arts venues
  • Free community events
  • Information on non-profit organizations and non-City government agencies

What Madison City Channel cannot include on the CBB:
  • Advertisements
  • Information on religious activities
  • Non-governmental job announcements

Due to the volume of information we receive, items are prioritized in the following order:
  1. City, County and State job openings
  2. Press releases and other information from City of Madison agencies
  3. Notices on Government/Community meetings
  4. Events taking place at the Overture Center and at other cultural/arts venues
  5. Free community events
  6. Information on non-profit organizations and non-City government agencies

Include dates, times, and location(s);

Include any pertinent logos or photos (to enhance the design of your page);

Include a contact name and phone number or email.

Information must be received AT LEAST TWO WEEKS prior to the event or meeting.

Supporting event flyers, images and posters submission guideline:

To help you present a unified graphic design of your publicity, we need graphics, logos, posters, any graphic identity you are planning to use, especially your organization's logo. Due to the fact that this is a television channel, the ability to animate things is nice, and the ability to resize for a television screen is necessary.
Accepted files types are layered Tiff, PDF, PSD. We work on Macs with Adobe CS3 suite including Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign and could potentially accept files created in any of these programs. Non layered files will not be animated.
Minimum image size is 640 x 480, either orientation, horizontal 720 x 540 is preferred.
Optimum resolution is 300 dpi or vector art. 72 dpi is the minimum accepted.
Convert all CMK, PMS, and/or spot color to RGB.
When creating PDF files, embed all specific fonts needed, and provide names of common fonts.
Send the files as early as possible to allow time for assessment and time for you to resubmit, should that be necessary.
