Welcome to the City of Madison Municipal Court. The City of Madison Municipal Court represents the judicial branch of government and provides a neutral setting for resolving alleged City ordinance violations. We provide friendly and efficient service to all court users, keeping in mind legal and ethical requirements.
The Municipal Court provides a neutral forum for hearing City Ordinance cases, where the penalty includes a forfeiture. The court handles approximately 38,000 cases per year. These are not criminal charges and defendants are not entitled to a free lawyer. Common cases include:
