| Neighborhood Statistics Indicators: | The Neighborhood Indicators Project is a demonstration of key characteristics and various indicators that relate to the quality of life in Madison at the neighborhood level. Basic neighborhood information as well as housing, public safety, health and family well-being, economic, and transportation indicators by neighborhood is available. |
| Recent Accomplishments: | - Social Events: July 4th parade, reestablished Summer picnic and Monster Bash at Chavez is popular -Developed new membership drive - time frame to be in the Fall vs. winter (membership not mandatory so this is key to our membership success) - Realigned Block Captains responsibilities - Completed neighborhood survey to determine what is important to them - Have established By-Laws (2004) - Neighborhood communication (newsletter and website) - Successful approval for speed humps and islands in neighborhood (planned for 2010 install) Future: - Establish neighborhood beautification committee (upkeep of entrances and islands) - Have new alderman periodically participate in our board meetings - Develop plan and apply for neighborhood grants - Improve membership through communication and personal contact by block captains |
