Profile, Statistics and Indicators
Neighborhood Description: Quiet streets, modest ranch homes, and walking distance to elementary and middle school makes this an ideal neighborhood for young families starting out to senior aging in place. The wooded, hilly terrain adds a sense of northern woods living in an urban setting. Cherokee Marsh, Cherokee Lake, Lake View Hill Conservancy, and Warner Park recreational area are a stone throw away. Views of Lake Mendota, and the once a year Rhythm and Boom Fourth of July fireworks, makes this a neighborhood where nature is never taken for granted. Children and adults have a pick of superb community centers: Kennedy Heights, Packers, Northport, and Warner Park are all located within 1-mile.
Neighborhood Boundaries: Wheeler Road on the north, North Sherman Avenue on the east, Sunfield, Kenwood and Iowa Drives on the south, Barby Lane and Cherokee Park on the west
Neighborhood Statistics Indicators: The Neighborhood Indicators Project is a demonstration of key characteristics and various indicators that relate to the quality of life in Madison at the neighborhood level. Basic neighborhood information as well as housing, public safety, health and family well-being, economic, and transportation indicators by neighborhood is available.
