Join Madison Parks and Madison Parks Foundation as we kick off the Moonlight Movie Series with an outdoor screening of the movie Miracle on the ice at the Tenney Park lagoon with Mark Johnson and Bob Suter, members of the 1980 "Miracle on Ice" Olympic hockey team. Bundle up, grab your skates, and bring the whole family out to skate around one of Madison's premiere outdoor ice rinks and watch the movie with two of Madison's greatest Olympians! It's been 33 years since the young U.S. college hockey players beat the Soviet team, widely considered the best team in the world. Madison Parks and the Madison Parks Foundation will be celebrating this incredible moment in history with a free screening of Miracle at the Tenney Park ice rink on February 6th from 6:00-8:30pm. "It's so nice to have Mark Johnson and Bob Suter come out and join us, for what I'm sure will be a memorable evening - especially for all the hockey fans out there," says Superintendent of the Madison Parks Division, Kevin Briski. The Madison Parks Foundation, celebrating 10 years of supporting Madison Parks, is sponsoring a Moonlight Movie Series. "Sometimes it's hard to find outdoor activities the whole family can participate in during the winter," says Grant Frautschi, Madison Parks Foundation President, "which is why we're so excited to offer this great event with two Olympians from right here in Madison." Thanks to the sponsorship by the Madison Parks Foundation, admission to the event is free and open to the public, however skate rentals available on a first come, first served basis. Concessions and a warming shelter will be available as well. Be sure to check out the rest of the Moonlight Movie Series later this spring, summer and fall!
