Mayor's Statement re: Jeff Erlanger

Madison - Mayor Dave Cieslewicz made the following statement today regarding the passing of longtime city activist Jeff Erlanger: "I was greatly saddened to learn about Jeff's passing. Jeff worked tirelessly to make Madison a better place, devoting countless hours to volunteer service on city committees and commissions, political campaigns and other civic activities. His optimistic spirit and commitment to our community will be greatly missed. "Jeff was an effective and respected leader, capable of brokering agreements on difficult issues. He never let his disabilities stop him from being an active leader in our community. On behalf of a grateful City of Madison, my thoughts are with his family and his many friends during this difficult time. They should be comforted to know that Jeff's presence will be felt in our community for many years to come."
