The City of Madison sponsored a two-stage competition for the design of new bus passenger shelters on State Street. In the first stage, designers, artists, architects and students were invited to submit examples of there past work. A 14-member jury then selected five finalists to move on to the second stage, where each was asked to submit up to three shelter designs.

The winning design, entitled “Metro Redux” was submitted by the Sturm/Lins Design Team.
