RENOVATION OF THE MADISON MUNICIPAL BUILDING

The City of Madison will soon begin an approximately 16 month renovation of the historic Madison Municipal Building, which will require the temporary relocation of our offices. As of Monday, November 14th, the Parking Utility and Traffic Engineering offices will be located on the 9th floor at 30 West Mifflin Street.

IT'S RESIDENTIAL PARKING PERMIT SEASON AGAIN!

Starting August 15th, 2016, you may be eligible to receive a residential parking permit that allows parking in excess of the posted 2 hour limits in many downtown residential areas.

MONTHLY OVERNIGHT PARKING PERMITS

Starting May 9th, the City of Madison Parking Utility would like to announce the release of monthly overnight parking permits for its five garages. The new monthly permits will allow people to park daily (Monday-Sunday) between the hours of 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. Monthly overnight permit rates vary by facility, from $55-$95 for Madison residents, and $65-$110 for non-residents of Madison.

The following City of Madison Parking Utility facilities will offer monthly overnight permits:

  • Capitol Square North Garage, 218 East Mifflin Street
  • Government East Garage, 215 S. Pickney Street
  • Overture Center Garage, 318 W. Mifflin Street
  • State Street Campus Garage, 430 N. Frances Street and 415 N. Lake Street
  • State Street Capitol Garage, 214 N. Carroll Street

To obtain a monthly parking permit please contact the City Parking Utility Office at 608-267-8752 or via email at parking@cityofmadison.com. Additional information also available at the Parking Utility Webpage http://www.cityofmadison.com/parkingutility/permits/monthly.cfm

All monthly parking permit applications must be completed in person at our Parking Utility office. Office hours are Monday-Friday from 7:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

NEW SHORT TERM PARKING AVAILABLE IN THE STATE STREET CAPITOL GARAGE

Conveniently located to both State Street and the Capitol Square, there are now 36 new short term metered spaces on the ground level of the State Street Capitol Garage. With time limits ranging from 25 minutes to 2 hours these metered spaces are available at all times, including during special events when the upper levels of the garage are pay-on-entry. Payment by coin, Visa or Mastercard can be made at any multi-space meter, of which there is one in each parking bay.

Introducing Parking Utility’s MOBILENOW! Pay by Cell pilot project for Buckeye Lot

The City of Madison Parking Utility is excited to announce a collaboration with the vendors MobileNOW! and Metric Parking to pilot a Pay by Cell program in the Buckeye Lot

Multi-Space Parking Meters available Downtown:


The City of Madison Parking Utility and Metric Meters have installed multi-space meters in the downtown area. These meters provide the option to use a credit card as well as coins. You may pay for any multi-space controlled parking space at any multi-space metered pay station.

If so, you can contest your ticket online. Be sure to include the following information from your parking receipt in your description: expiration time, amount paid, meter number (6 digit number), space number, and purchase time. Also let us know if you paid with coins or Visa/Mastercard.
