Madison Parks Candlelight Snowshoe/Hike with Monona Parks and Recreation and Aldo Leopold Nature Center

Saturday, January 17, 2015, 5-7 pm

Edna Taylor Conservation Park, 802 Femrite Drive

Enjoy the soft glow of candles as you meander through the trails of Edna Taylor Conservation Park, Monona’s Woodland Park and Aldo Leopold Nature Center.  Join us for this free family event and get out and get active.  Over 200 candles and luminaries will light the way on a 1 mile trail.  Participants can start at Edna Taylor parking lot, Aldo Leopold Nature Center, or in Woodland Park.  It is an out and back route.

Aldo Leopold Nature Center will be open as a warming shelter and has bathrooms.  A camp fire will be available for participants to warm up outside. All ages are welcome.

Participants are encouraged to bring their own snowshoes, but there will be a limited number of snowshoes available to use.  Snowshoes are made available by REI, Monona Parks, Madison Parks, and Aldo Leopold Nature Center.

Please, no pets, skiing or sleds allowed.

If there is no snow this event will be held as a Candlelight Hike. If there is inclement weather, this event may be cancelled.  Cancellations will be announced on the Madison Parks facebook and twitter pages.
