Bonus Permit Free Weekend: Friday, July 23 - Sunday, July 26, 2026

While the online permit system is temporarily unavailable during a scheduled maintenance, visitors may access the lakes, bring their dogs to a park, and enjoy disc golf without the typically required permit.

    Lake Access Permit

    Required year-round for all designated boat launch sites in the City of Madison, City of Monona, and Dane County Parks.

    Disc Golf Permit

    A disc golf permit is required for a player aged 16 years and older.

    Dog Permit

    Required for any dog visiting an off-leash park or on-leash where allowed.

    Cross-Country Ski Permit

    Required for all designated cross-country ski trails in Madison Parks and Dane County Parks.
