MPD Hiring Process

  • Application Deadline: November 2, 2015
  • Written & Physical Agility Testing: November 8 & December 13
    - Consolidated Testing for Distant Candidates (Living more than 6 hours from Madison - January 10, 2016)
  • Oral Board Interviews: Approximately 6-8 weeks after your initial testing day
  • Background Investigations: Can begin immediately after an oral board interview, or no later than February, 2016
  • Trilogy: Chief's Interview, Personality Assessment and Ride-Along with a Field Training Officer - Early April 2016
  • Tentative Job Offers: Early May, 2016
  • Medical Clearance: Mid-July, 2016
  • Final Job Offers: Early August, 2016
  • Academy begins: September, 2016

Starting salary from $47,041 annually, with a raise after six months to $52,306.

Some of the other benefits are:
