The Madison PD will be conducting an enhanced traffic enforcement project this afternoon. Today's project will be focussing on Hwy 51/Stoughton Rd.
In 2020, 15 people were killed as the result of traffic crashes. That is the highest total for Madison since 2007.

These additional enforcement efforts are made possible through traffic overtime grants provided by the Wisconsin Department of Transportation

Over the course of our 3 hour enhanced enforcement operation yesterday, Officers conducted 34 stops for individuals failing to wear their seatbelts.
Please buckle up - in 2017 an estimated 14,955 lives were saved by seatbelt use (source NHTSA).
