The Madison PD will be conducting an enhanced traffic enforcement project this afternoon. Today's project will be focussing on E Washington Ave.

These additional enforcement efforts are made possible through traffic overtime grants provided by the Wisconsin Department of Transportation.

From 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Officers monitored traffic in the 900 block of E Washington Ave for speeding violations (25 MPH zone). Officers made a total of 29 stops for speeding. All vehicles stopped were traveling at least 15 MPH or more over the posted speed limit, with a highest-recorded speed being 56 MPH.
