Mall / Concourse Food Vending

You must obtain the following before you can apply for a Mall / Concourse Food Vending License:
Applying for a Mall / Concourse Food Vending License Online
The application for this license can be completed on the City of Madison Licenses & Permits portal.
  • If you do not have one already, you must create an account on the Licenses & Permits portal to fill out the application.
  • Please note that you must obtain a City of Madison Street Vendor License before you can apply for the Mall Food License.
  • Once you login to your account go to the Licenses/Registrations section, select Apply for a License/Registration and then choose Vending - Mall Food .
 
Applying for a Mall / Concourse Food Vending License By Mail
  1. Complete the Application for Electrical Use (PDF).
  2. Submit an insurance certificate (General liability insurance at a minimum of one million dollars, naming City of Madison as Additional Insured). Go to Insurance Requirements.

Food Cart Review

The annual food cart review takes place the last week of September.
This is a mandatory juried review process that takes place every year in late September. Mall / Concourse sites are formally assigned based on a rank-ordered list of scores. All Mall / Concourse food vending sites for the current year have already been assigned. Applications must be submitted by September first each year in order to apply for a Mall / Concourse food cart site during the following year. If interested, please call ahead to make an appointment at 608-261-9171.
